Serving you with passion!

A few weeks ago I gave you some of my favorite highlights of Vernon; a sample of what makes this town so great. Today, I wanted to list out a few things that make the larger Okanagan Valley fantastic in itself. So, regardless if you are living in East Hill at the center of Vernon, Coldstream or or anywhere along lake country, there are many fun, interesting and exciting things to do in the greater Okanagan.

1. Predator Ridge is a spectacular 36-hole golf resort located high above Vernon and overlooking both Okanagan and Kalamalka Lakes. Not just a golf course, it offers luxury resort living with a wide variety of diversions and is situated conveniently between Kelowna and Vernon. If you prefer to spend your time on the green, then you will enjoy this champion course, or if you just want to be up in the hills, there are hiking and walking trails, tennis, fine dining and access to one of North America's finest spas.

2. Sparkling Hills Resort is an astonishing addition to the Okanagan. Located in Vernon, Sparkling Hills brings together a European spa with the stunning mountain and lake views of the Okanagan. Envisioned by the patriarch of the Swarovski Crystal family, the unique architecture incorporates over 3 million crystal elements and the spa itself offers one of the leading Wellness Experiences in North America. They offer many services, short and long term stays and excursions by helicopter to various Okanagan attractions.

3. The Okanagan is famous as one of Canada’s best wine territories. Vineyards and Wineries are spread over the Okanagan valley from small, independent ones such as Intrigue Wines. Or take the time to visit some of the best known ones such as Jackson-Triggs. And don’t just drop in, incorporate your visits into a cycling winery tour or spend the evening dining in one of their restaurants.

4. I don’t think you can find much better than biting into a juicy Okanagan peach while enjoying some of our never-ending sunshine. Local Summer Fruits are produced all along the Okanagan Valley. The contribute to our unique scenery, fund many of our local markets, and if you want to take a closer look at how our fruit is grown, stop by Davidson’s Orchards for a tour and some home-baked pie.

5. Kettle Valley is a restored railway that is now a popular spot for bikers, hikers, history lovers and those who just love a good view. Covering most of the Okanagan, the restored rail starts at the border with the US and works its way through the valleys and the mountains northward. A historical gem, the Kettle Valley Railway is a great way to enjoy the Okanagan.

But really, this is just a taste. If you would like to chat some more about all the great things there are to see and do in the sunny Okanagan, give me a call and I would be happy to tell you more!
